a skincare routine of sorts

supposed to be packing rn BUT THATS A PROBLEM FOR TOMORROW....anyways i'm no true skincare enthusiast but i've acquired a few things over the past week [gurl who has gone to 5 different olive youngs so far and has never walked out with empty hands] and i thought i'd share them here <3 also i miss writing dw posts

so actually my skin is at an all time Bad right now because: 1) i forgot to pack my face wash so the one week i was in quarantine i was just splashing my face with tap water 2) covid-related stress 3) its COLD here 4) pollution? and 5) my diet for the past 7 days has been instant ramen and 5% alc fruity beers from convenience stores dw about it.

anyways before, my routine was:

• la roche-posay toleriane purifying foam cleanser — hands down my holy grail cleanser.....i bought it on a whim at target bc i ran out of the versed gel cleanser but it's the one cleanser i've used that i feel actually does something for my skin in terms of keeping breakouts at bay + cost effective bc i got the big bottle TT i srsly miss her


• almay waterproof eye makeup remover — nothing to write home about but it removes my kissme heroine make mascara so it works...it has such an oily residue tho so i wasn't a big fan but i still had half a bottle left at home (which i also forgot to pack)


• elf happy hydration cream — it's a good basic moisturizer i think but the only reason i've been using it for so long is because they sell it at target and i'm too lazy to buy skincare online


• the ordinary niacinamide 10% + zinc 1% — i've also been using this on and off for about 2-3 years!! for some reason i found it much more effective the first year i was using it at helping reduce pimples/heal scars quickly but now idk if it does much for me anymore.... i broke the bottle i had at home + i saw this at an olive young so i may buy it again soon but the price of it here pains me

now:

• round lab green tea pure cleansing foam — kind of annoyed that i got this one and not the more hyped dokdo cleanser but i came into olive young not knowing anything at first and finally settled on this since they sold a 1+1 pack for ~13,000 krw. but actually its a pretty nice cleanser and leaves my skin reallllyyy soft so i guess? it works??


• the lab green flavonoid cream + solution — another thing i bought on a whim....side note: every time i go to olive young I CAN NEVER FIND THE THINGS I WANT....like i came in trying to find a cosrx snail niacinamide thingy but OY carries a very limited amount of cosrx and i still haven't found it despite visiting x amount of stores T-T okay anyways this is also actually really good def a step up from my elf cream. i like the semi-watery texture but its not overly runny + a little goes a long way. plus it absorbs into the skin really well and doesn't leave me feeling greasy like the elf cream did. a bit more on the pricey side but i did buy it in another set so???


• illiyoon eye makeup remover — holy shit. IM OBSESSED W THIS it works so well + isnt greasy + eviscerates my heroine mascara which is like all a girl can ask for basically

some other things i've bought but yet to use:

• mediheal masks — i've tried some mediheal masks before and generally favor them amongst sheet masks bc they're on the cheaper side but are relatively thin and effective....anyways let me get into the tea tree mask and get back to u on this


• goodal houttuniya cordata calming sun cream — i am not immune to olive young 1+1 promotions!!! actually was on the search for the round lab birch juice moisturizing sun cream per friend rec but i couldn't find it and compromised with this instead. again it was a really good deal bc it was ~20,000 krw for two??? also the texture of the sample i tried was even better than my canmake mermaid sunscreen so i was impressed. looking forward to using this bc i keep forgetting to put on sunscreen :")

also nearly lost it at a bottle of aveeno lotion costing almost 20,000 krw here UMM. anyways if anyone has korean skincare niacinamide recs lmk i'm desperate <3 or just other recs in general. life here has been kind of A Lot these past 2 weeks but i wish everyone reading this a restful/fun weekend <33
